LAMS Morel Foray, May 6-8, 2011
The foray is scheduled for Mother's Day weekend, May 6--8, 2011 (Fri-Sun).
Long experience
has shown that the second weekend in May is most often the peak of the very brief
morel season in the San Bernardino Mountains. We will stay at
Camp Nawakwa
in Barton Flats in the San Bernardino Mountains with enclosed
heated cabins, kitchen and dining hall. There will be cabins for couples and
families as well as unaccompanied men and women. Lodging is comfortable
and clean, but it is not a five-star hotel. Meals from Friday
dinner through Sunday lunch (six meals) will be included.
There will be guided forays to morel habitats on Saturday and on Sunday morning.
We also plan an entertaining and informative program for Saturday
evening. The cost, including lodging for 2 nights, meals and forays is shown below:
Adults and children 11 or older: LAMS/SDMS members--$130 per person
Non-members--$140 per person
Children, age 3-10 (if accompanied by member)--$75
Children, age 3-10 (if accompanied by non-member)--$80
There is no charge for children under three
Early Registration ends Friday, April 29. ALL adult registrations will be $10
more from April 30--May 3. Youth registrations will be $5 more.
No registrations will be accepted after May 3.
The

Pennsylvania
The Western PA Mushroom Club is hosting the
2011 NAMA Dr. Richard Homola Memorial
Foray on August 4-7 at Clarion University in Clarion, PA, just off Interstate 80.
It is going to be an action packed foray with presentations, workshops, walks,
and mycophagy.
We invite you to visit the NAMA website at

Arizona
Southwest Regional Foray
September 2-5, 2011 in Portal, Arizona
NAMA members will have the opportunity to hunt mushrooms at the Southwestern
Research Station (SWRS) at Portal, Arizona, over Labor Day weekend with Dr. Jack
States! Recognized as the authority on Southwestern fungi, Dr. States will serve
as mycologist for this new regional foray.
The SWRS, supported by the American Museum Natural History and dedicated to
scientific research, is located in the Chiricahua Mountains, part of the almost
two million acre Coronado National Forest. Because biomes range from desert to
high elevations, these mountains are considered to be the most biologically
diverse in the entire country.
The NAMA Regional Foray will be held September 2-5, 2011. This should be the
optimal time of year to find fungi in the extensive habitats surrounding the
station. Registration will cover room and board, and all facilities at $260 per
person, dormitory style.
Registration will be limited to 40 NAMA members.
Registration is now open. Click
here for the registration form.
Note: NAMA membership is required to attend annual and NAMA-endorsed forays.
