Treat yourself to an educational, delicious, and relaxing autumnal event in the midst of the old growth forests of Oregon. All California Club Foray

January 27-29, 2012 - Albion, California

Join mushroomers from all over California (and beyond) at the Albion Field Station near Mendocino for the fifth All California Club Foray. With the NAMA foray coming to California in December 2012, we decided to modify the schedule a bit and offer folks a preview of great California winter fungi! This foray is scheduled during the heart of the winter mushroom season, and is close to excellent mushroom habitat. Meals and the company will be divine! Best of all, the price is right: Friday night through Sunday noon includes all meals and lodging, guided forays and evening entertainment for only $175 per person. For more details, contact David Rust, 510-430-9353 or incredulis@yahoo.com, or see the BAMS website at http://www.bayareamushrooms.org/.

Crazy About Mushrooms

Mushroom Anna here! Since last June I've been producing "Crazy About Mushrooms: Conversations With Fungus Fanatics", which is an hour long radio documentary about mushrooms and the people who love them.

The hour long special was funded by KVMR and features interviews with some of the world's foremost mushroom experts, including Paul Stamets, Taylor Lockwood, Gary Lincoff and Dr. Ralph Metzner. Join me on my quest to bring the story of the mysterious mushroom to light!

Mt. Pisgah Festival

Oct 30 10 am - 5 pm - Eugene, Oregon
http://mountpisgaharboretum.org/MushroomFestival2011
Don’t miss our 30th annual fall celebration of mushrooms and the harvest season, co-presented by Mount Pisgah Arboretum, the Cascade Mycological Society and Lane Community College. This event is the largest mushroom display on the West Coast! Hundreds of locally-collected wild fungi will be on display, with experts on hand to answer questions and identify any specimens that visitors bring in.

This year is special to the Arboretum; it marks the 30th Anniversary of the Mushroom Festival! In honor to celebrate, our partners, the Cascade Mycological Society will be hosting special mushroom activities, leading up to the festival.

You don't have to be a nature-nut to have a great time: the festival also features a huge plant sale, a scarecrow contest, children’s activities, hayrides, craft vendors, incredible mushroom-inspired food, fresh apple cider, wine, great music by popular local bands, and much more.
