What We Do
The
SDMS regularly hosts meetings, classes, forays, and "Fungus Fairs" for
the promotion of this fascinating subject. We put the
in fungus!
-
Meetings
We meet the first Monday of
the month from October to May. We bring in mushrooms to identify, have slide
shows, host guest lecturers, and share mushroom recipies and delectables.
-
Classes
Beginner and Intermediate mycology
classes are offered from time to time for a reasonable fee. See Sporadic
Press newsletter for schedule.
-
Forays
Mushroom hunts are regulary
led by our knowledgeable volunteers into the fungal jungles of San Diego
county and environs. Bring your basket!
-

We have an email list for notices
of forays, meetings, and other events. The email list is now restricted to members of SDMS.

Fungus Fairs
The SDMS had its first (and
very successful) Fungus Fair on February 01, 1998 in Balboa Park. It was
free to the public, and over 800 attended! There were display tables with
specimens of local fungi, mushroom photos, etc. The
next Fungus Fair will be February 17, 2008 at the Casa Del Prado, from 10:30
am to 3:30 pm.
